Justice Prevails: Victory for Pro-lifers

We want to share an encouraging update from a case that goes to the very heart of why Life Legal exists.

Last summer, six pro-life advocates with Red Rose Rescue were arrested while handing out roses and offering prayer and life-giving resources at an abortion facility in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Life Legal represented Will Goodman, who initially faced trespassing charges for his actions.

Just a few weeks ago, our Life Legal attorney was able to get the charges against Goodman resolved without fines, probation, or additional jail time. As Goodman explained afterward, “Our mission in court isn’t simply to prove our own innocence. It’s to fight for true justice—and for the personhood of the babies who are absolutely innocent.” As a result of Red Rose Rescue’s peaceful presence, the clinic closed for the day and at least eight scheduled abortion appointments were canceled. Women were given time to reflect on their decision—time that otherwise would not have existed.

Cases like this are about more than one person or one courtroom. They determine whether Americans can be arrested, prosecuted, and jailed simply for offering help, prayer and life-affirming alternatives to abortion.
