Russ Rooney | Director of Life Legal Minnesota

Russ Rooney is a passionate pro-life advocate and a leader within Life Legal Defense Foundation’s Minnesota affiliate. A seasoned Minnesota businessman, Russ currently directs operations for Life Legal MN, where he spearheads impactful pro-life education, legal advocacy, and public engagement efforts (Life Legal).

As host of The Rooney Report, he conducts in-depth interviews with prominent voices in the pro-life movement—ranging from abortion survivors like Melissa Ohden to movement leaders such as Shawn Carney and Archbishop Bernard Hebda (Life Legal). Through this widely viewed video series and accompanying podcasts, he amplifies testimonies that inspire, inform, and empower pro-life activists.

Russ is also the author of Be a Friend for Life, a guide aimed at equipping individuals to bring practical—and compassionate—support to women facing unexpected pregnancies (Life Legal).

Additionally, Russ often speaks at major community and religious events. Most recently, he delivered the keynote “Truth, Testimony, Trauma” at the St. Cloud Diocese’s 2025 Forty Days for Life kickoff, where he moved attendees with stories of hope and healing (Diocese of Saint Cloud).
