Urgent: Defending Free Speech –First Amendment Rights at Risk!

I want to bring an urgent matter to your attention—one that strikes at the heart of our First Amendment rights and the ability to peacefully stand for life.

On January 10, 2025, a court issued a three-year restraining order against pro-life advocate Chad Hunt, barring him from protesting within 100 yards of a public sidewalk near an abortion clinic in Redding, California. This extreme ruling is based on a single incidentwhere Mr. Hunt unintentionally bumped into a clinic employee while lawfully exercising his free speech rights. There were no threats, no injuries, and no history of misconduct—yet the court’s order silences him and sets a dangerous precedent for pro-life advocates everywhere.

We are fighting back. We have filed a legal challenge to restore Chad’s First Amendment rights and prevent courts from using unconstitutional stay-away orders to suppress peaceful pro-life speech. Without relief, Chad will be unable to protest for at least 18 months—more than half the duration of the restraining order—before his appeal can even be heard.

Here’s where we need your help:

  • Legal costs are mounting, and we must act quickly to protect Chad’s rights.
  • This case is bigger than Chad—it could impact all pro-life advocates targeted by abortionists abusing legal procedures that were enacted to protect people, not silence them.
  • Your support ensures that we can take this battle all the way, if necessary, to safeguard the right to peacefully protest for life.

Will you stand with Chad and help us fight this blatant attack on free speech? Every donation brings us closer to victory in this critical case.

Thank you for your unwavering support in defending life and liberty. Your tax-deductible gift ensures that pro-life advocates have the legal protection they need to speak the truth, defend the unborn, and stand against the abortion industry’s attacks on free speech and human dignity.

Back in 2021, in cooperation with others, our clients, Laura Gies and Audrey Whipple, participated in a sit-in at an abortion mill in the Akron, Ohio, area.  They also passively resisted arrest by going limp.  These actions were addressed in state court.

But state convictions did not satisfy the Biden/Garland Justice Department, which filed a civil suit under FACE with the intention of heaping further punishments on Laura, Audrey, and other nonviolent participants.
