Judge issues ruling after giving Life Legal just one minute to argue the case.

Life Legal attorneys Allison Aranda and Katie Short were back in court this week on behalf of pro-life advocate Anastasia Rogers.

As you may know, Anastasia was arrested outside a Planned Parenthood facility after posting a video on Instagram about her peaceful outreach to women entering the facility—as well as to clinic staff. An escort working for the abortion mill claimed the video contained “threatening language.” In reality, Anastasia simply told the truth—abortion kills babies.

Many of you have been praying for Anastasia and asking for updates about her case.

What happened in court yesterday was deeply troubling. As soon as the hearing began, the judge stated that she had already made up her mind about the case and was prepared to rule. Our legal team was given only 60 seconds to speak. As Attorney Aranda presented our argument, the judge watched the clock.

We asked the court to dismiss the charges against Anastasia. The judge denied our request and inexplicably ruled that Anastasia’s social media post is not protected speech. She then issued a “stay-away” order prohibiting Anastasia from being anywhere near the abortion clinic at any time—whether or not the escort who complained about the video is present. This completely silences Anastasia’s pro-life outreach at Planned Parenthood.

The judge refused to watch the Instagram video at the center of the case, saying it would be “inappropriate” to review social media content—even though the video clearly shows Anastasia participating in an online trend, not threatening anyone.

In fact, the message of Anastasia’s video is simple: her pro-life outreach is rooted in kindness and compassion, while Planned Parenthood profits from destroying innocent human life.

Anastasia’s case will now go to a jury trial on April 17.

Please continue to pray for Anastasia and for our legal team as we prepare for trial. If you are able, please consider making a gift to support her defense.
