After months of prosecution, Anastasia can continue her pro-life work.
Life Legal attorneys were back in court today on behalf of pro-life advocate Anastasia Rogers. We represented Anastasia in a two-week trial after she was arrested and charged with violating California’s FACE Act for posting a 13-second Instagram reel. The jury returned a hung verdict, with 10 of 12 jurors voting that Anastasia was not guilty. We subsequently requested that the case be dismissed.
The prosecution tried to portray Anastasia’s reel and her pro-life work as intimidation, but the jury did not buy it. Even after an overwhelming number of jurors voted to acquit, the District Attorney refused to drop the case, and the matter was set for retrial. Anastasia faced the possibility of being dragged back into court again simply for standing for life.
After months of prayers, pressure, and public support, we were successful in arguing that a retrial in this case would be a miscarriage of justice and a waste of judicial resources. As a result, the prior protective order has been terminated, and a new order signed today enables Anastasia to resume her peaceful pro-life work outside Planned Parenthood with the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust team. Even more importantly, her case is now set to be dismissed completely on September 23, 2026, as long as she complies with the court’s terms and obeys all laws during that time.
Because of your prayers, your calls, and your emails, the pressure made a difference. Anastasia is not being silenced. She can return to the sidewalk, continue her work with Survivors, and if she complies with the court’s terms over the next three months, this case will be dismissed. This is a tremendous answer to prayer and a very encouraging step forward.
We are truly grateful to everyone who stood with Anastasia and with Life Legal throughout this fight. Your support helps make it possible for us to defend pro-life advocates when the government tries to punish them for speaking the truth. Please continue to pray for Anastasia during these next three months, especially for protection as she returns to the very place where she has faithfully offered help to women and their children.
This is not over until the case is officially dismissed, but today we give thanks to God for this encouraging development and for every person who took action on Anastasia’s behalf.
