With just 13 days until Election Day, Idaho voters are facing an important decision about the future of protections for unborn children.
Nearly three weeks ago, Life Legal launched our “Read Between the Lies” campaign, using digital advertisements and social media to bring greater attention to Proposition 1 and the changes it would make to Idaho law.
YOU’VE HEARD THEIR CLAIMS. NOW READ BETWEEN THE LIES.
Proposition 1 would make sweeping changes to Idaho’s abortion laws, including provisions affecting existing safeguards. Yet these changes are not always obvious from the language used to describe the measure.
For example, Proposition 1 does not establish a specific gestational-week limit for abortion. Instead, it allows physicians to determine fetal viability based on whether an unborn child can survive outside the womb “without extraordinary medical measures.” The measure leaves key terms undefined, raising serious questions about how its provisions would be interpreted.
