She offered help. She was arrested. (Court update)

Here’s an important update about Anastasia Rogers—a young pro-life advocate who was arrested last month in San Francisco for doing what our Constitution is supposed to protect: standing peacefully on a public sidewalk and offering help to women in need.

Anastasia appeared in court on January 15, but the hearing was continued to January 30, 2026. In the meantime, Life Legal has filed a motion to dismiss the charges against her.

We believe these charges are not only legally unfounded—they represent an egregious misuse of the law against peaceful, constitutionally protected speech.

As a reminder, Anastasia was arrested in December while engaged in outreach on a public sidewalk outside a Planned Parenthood facility—offering pregnancy resource information to women who may have felt they had no other option. She was later told she was arrested pursuant to a warrant issued in connection with an Instagram video she posted, in which she contrasted her peaceful, compassionate approach with the reality of what abortionists do: end the lives of unborn children.
She was not blocking access, threatening anyone, or violating any law.

Our review of the allegations confirms what the facts show: Anastasia’s conduct was lawful and protected by the First Amendment.

No one should have to face handcuffs, court dates, and criminal charges simply for offering help and speaking the truth in the public square. But when peaceful pro-life speech is treated as a crime, it sends a chilling message to everyone who dares to defend life. That is why Life Legal exists: to ensure no one stands alone when they are targeted for defending babies.

Please continue to pray for Anastasia—for peace and perseverance, for wisdom for her attorneys and the court, and for a swift and just resolution to this case. We will be back in court on January 30, and we remain committed to defending her rights every step of the way.

Thank you for standing with us. Your prayers and support make it possible for Life Legal to respond quickly and decisively when pro-life advocates are threatened simply for exercising their constitutional rights. We will continue to keep you informed as this case moves forward.
